Data Breach Report
While large companies are expanding their security measures, SMEs still have some catching up to do. Based on tens of thousands of attack surface scans, over 57,000 leaked data sets and hundreds of real claims, our report shows how the threat situation for SMEs has fundamentally changed.
What to expect in the report

The new hacking methods
Cyber criminals are less likely to break into systems in a complex manner today, but simply log in with access data purchased on the Darknet. This scaling is being driven by info stealers, which extract passwords en masse and make them tradable in databases for just a few euros. SMEs are particularly at risk, as attackers choose their targets based on the amount of existing personal data (PII) rather than the size of turnover.
The illusion of safety
Despite clarification, trivial passwords are still being used, which are available in plain text for hackers to use immediately. The most critical vulnerability remains the lack of multi-factor authentication (MFA). Only 47% of all companies with less than €5 million in turnover use MFA.
